On Friday, November 3rd & Saturday, November 4th, our dojo will be hosting special seminars, a black belt testing, and the 57th Anniversary Tournament!
Friday, November 3 – Seminars with Osensei and Dr. Derek Ochiai
- 5:00 – 6:15 pm: Osensei will be giving a special seminar for Wa-shin Ryu students of all ranks and all ages 6 and up.
- 6:15 – 6:45 pm: Dr. Derek Ochiai will be giving a special seminar on sparring for Wa-shin Ryu brown and black belts only. Dr. Ochiai is two-time national sparring champion and All American!
Friday, November 3 – Black Belt Testing
- 6:45 pm – 8:00 pm (approx.) Osensei and the Wa-shin Ryu Dan Committee will be holding a black belt testing session for Wa-shin Ryu brown-belt students.
Saturday, November 4 – Tournament & Demonstrations
The tournament and demonstrations are open to the public! The competition is for Wa-shin Ryu students only all ranks ages 6 and up. Students will be traveling to our school from all over the country to compete and to demonstrate in the tournament!
Tournament Schedule:

9:15 AM – Doors open

10:00 AM – Competition begins

11:45 AM – Special demonstrations by Wa-shin Ryu black belts and junior students

1:00 PM – All competitors and spectators receive complimentary lunch and a gift from Master Ochiai!

2:00 PM – Approximate end of the tournament
