Weapons arts, known as Kobudo (“the old martial way”), were developed in Okinawa over 500 years ago. As Okinawa became a more peaceful society, the need for using these traditional weapons for combat and self-defense subsidied.
Today, these ancient weapons arts continue to be practiced as an art form that develops self-mastery through improved physical conditioning (balance, coordination, and upper-body strength), and increased mental strength (confidence, concentration, and discipline).
Our Kobudo classes are on Saturday mornings at 11:10 am. They are only for currently enrolled students in our Karate classes, ages 7 and up and green belt and up. Weapons taught include Bo, Sai, Nunchacku, and San Shaku Bo.
